Project description:

Near the nature!
Welcome to Gárdony in new places with new programmes!

The Dinnyés Churchyard Tourist and Tradition Centre, to be opened in May 2010, welcomes its visitors, near the Dinnyés Fertő and the Bird Reserve of Lake Velencei on the south shore of Lake Velencei in a beautiful nature environment. Open all round the year, the centre is an ideal venue for professional and educational programmes, camps, cultural and recreational events. The biggest covered open-air stage of Fejér county can be found here. The opening ceremony is on 29-30 May with the colourful programmes of the Elderflower Festival. Further events: Lake Velencei Vintage and Folkdance Festival (18 September), Birdwatching Days, Day of Folding (1-3 October).

The Lake Velence Art Gallery can be found in Agárdpuszta, in the restored granary, next to the Géza Gárdonyi Memorial House. The new art centre is an institution creating and maintaining value, providing place for creating as well as for exhibitions. It will be opened during the 3rd Lake Velencei Fish, Game, Wine and Pálinka Festival ( 30 April – 2 May). It will also host exhibitions and events like the Lake Velencei JazzFACE Festival, TűzART ( Fireart) week 23-27 June.

The Chernel István Madárvárta ( Bird Watching Post), which was the international centre of birdwatching for decades, will be reopened in spring 2010 in Agárd, at Lake Velencei. The restored building is excellent to host campers interested in nature as well as groups. Madárvárta welcomes its visitors from May on. The opening ceremony will take place during the Pálinka festival. The 16-km long Madárdal ( Bird Song) path, starting from the Dinnyés Fertő is both viable on foot or by bike while displaying the most important natural and cultural treasures of Gárdony.
